Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient exams, chart prep, and routine clerical tasks.

You will collect vital signs, document histories in EMR, manage refill authorizations, and assist with phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient education. Excellent computer and communication skills, and flexibility to travel between offices are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or MA certification preferred.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program or MA experience required.
• 2–5 years MA or relevant experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and scheduling systems required.
• Strong verbal and social skills; travel to other offices as needed.
• Phlebotomy, EKGs, stitches removal and splinting are highly preferred.
• Certified/Registered MA preferred; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient flow during clinic hours and document review of systems; record vital signs.
• Prepare patient charts in EMR for visits by scanning, abstracting, and updating the chart with test results.
• Refill medications and pre-authorize meds with patient, pharmacy, or insurer as needed.
• Operate EKG, cardiac monitors, and other equipment; assist with phlebotomy and cast removal.
• Maintain a safe, confidential, and compliant work environment; protect patient information.
