Job summary

Options for Learning is seeking a dedicated preschool/School-age floater to support teaching staff across multiple San Gabriel Valley sites. You will implement curriculum, supervise a classroom, and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment for enrolled children.

Responsibilities include planning activities, developing individual plans, supervising assistants, and collaborating with families. This role requires flexibility across sites and adherence to program policies.

Qualifications

• Child development credential/permit required.
• Associate degree in child development or 24/16 unit split per age group.
• Three semester units in administration with at least a C grade.
• Current pediatric CPR and pediatric first aid certifications.
• Health screening and TB clearance.
• Immunization proof for TDap, MMR, whooping cough, and annual flu.
• Live scan background check.
• Mandated reporter training.
• English communication (written and spoken).
• California driver’s license and access to a car (preferred).
• Spanish/Cantonese/Mandarin/Vietnamese languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement classroom activities based on curriculum.
• Prepare individual education plans for each child.
• Supervise and interact with children positively.
• Develop and maintain learning centers reflecting children’s interests.
• Provide a safe, clean, and well-supervised environment.
• Assist education supervisor as needed.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
• Recruit/supervise parents and volunteers.
• Support full enrollment and participate in recruitment.
