Job summary

The Clinical Assistant at Mount Sinai Health System rotates between 5 E 9th St Cancer Center and campus sites, with weekly travel to Valley Hospital in NJ. This role provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and surgeons, coordinating patient care and serving as a liaison among patients, families, providers, and payers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• BCLS certification – Required Issuing Authority: AHA
• Completion of a Medical Scribe training program (if the Scribe role is required by the department)
• Completion of a certificate Medical Assistant program from an accredited school

Responsibilities

• Serves as liaison between physicians, patients, families and providers to ensure quality patient care
• Coordinates daily activities of the physician team staff for efficient operations
• Assists with exams and procedures; takes vital signs and prepares rooms
• Enters orders into the EMR and handles prescription refill requests
• Provides training and mentoring to Level I staff
• Performs other duties as assigned
