Technician I - High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Technician II - Credentialed veterinary technician.
Are you a skilled veterinary technician who would love to join a dynamic team of nurses providing care to cats, dogs, exotics, and wildlife being seen across a wide variety of specialty services? Our Multiservice team offers the opportunity to work alongside nursing staff, specialists, and veterinary students in a busy academic teaching hospital environment. In this role, you will receive training in a variety of specialty services to prepare you and then work in areas ranging from Dermatology to Zoo Med, Orthopedic Surgery to Oncology, and Ophthalmology to Emergency and Critical Care. Once trained, every day can present a new exciting challenge as you work in teams across our hospital.
Nursing staff in this role provide vital patient care, including assisting with appointments, small procedures, diagnostic workups, sedation, and anesthesia. They work closely with boarded veterinary specialists, residents/interns, and veterinary students in a fast paced teaching and learning environment. Our ideal candidate is eager to learn, an excellent communicator, and has strong general nursing care skills and knowledge.
Shifts are most often during the day Mon-Fri, but other shifts may be needed (with advance notice) in order to cover outages in the Emergency and Critical Care service. This role also provides coverage for holiday closures on a rotating basis.

This is a CARE position offering limited benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.
