About the Research

The U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) offers research opportunities focused on multisensory integration and perception. The Associate will work in a multidisciplinary team to advance empirical understandings and theoretical conceptualizations of human multisensory processing. Work emphasizes the development and use of novel technology platforms to examine multisensory combinations and critical issues in real‑world environments, with a goal of creating robust, versatile closed‑loop systems that enhance performance throughout the sensory‑perceptual‑motor decision‑making cycle.

Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct human subjects experiments, including tests of specific model predictions.
  • Advance quantitative analysis of biosignal data and multi‑aspect data approaches.
  • Collaborate with collaborators from cognitive neuroscience, electrical engineering, computer science, and applied physics or mathematics.
  • Develop, implement, analyze, simulate, and test models of closed‑loop systems.
Qualifications
  • Strong affinity for quantitative analysis with experience in biosignal data collection and/or analysis.
  • Programming skills and experience with measurement and user interface hardware/software integration are desired.
  • Experience in modeling closed‑loop systems, including model development, implementation, analysis, simulation, and testing.
  • Doctoral degree (or in‑progress) related to the fields listed below.
  • U.S. citizenship and age 18 or older.
