Job summary

WGAL-TV, the NBC affiliate serving the Lancaster-Lebanon-Harrisburg-York, PA market, is seeking a Part-Time Photojournalist/Editor who thrives on impactful, multi-platform storytelling through compelling visual media. You will shoot and edit for broadcast, digital, and social platforms, delivering content that resonates across TV, web, and mobile.

The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, adaptable, and proficient with ENG cameras, mobile tools, and Adobe Premiere.

Qualifications

• Experience with non-linear editing systems (Adobe Premiere preferred).
• Understanding of multi-platform storytelling, including broadcast and social/digital video formats.
• Previous newsroom experience preferred; military experience strongly considered.

Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit VOs, VO-SOTs, and packages for broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
• Create and adapt content for multi-platform distribution, including TV, web, app, and social media.
• Serve as show editor, cutting and attaching video content into a newscast rundown (ENPS proficiency is a bonus).
• Produce vertical and mobile-first video optimized for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
• Collaborate with the Assignment Desk, reporters, and producers to cover stories and meet deadlines.
• Work with producers to bring editorial vision to life through strong visuals, sequencing, and natural sound.
• Identify opportunities for real-time social content and behind-the-scenes storytelling in the field.
• Ensure all content meets journalistic, ethical, and brand standards across platforms.
