Job summary

Chestnut Labs in Wisconsin is seeking a production/packing operator to repack and label jars, operate Arpac indexer and sealer, and assemble multipacks for case packing and palletizing.

You will ensure UPC labeling accuracy, maintain inventory via handheld scanner, and uphold DFA GMP and sanitation standards in a team-based environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Unpack and label filled jars to be packed.
  • Operate Arpac indexer and sealer machine.
  • Pack multipacks into cases and tape closed.
  • Apply finished UPC labels to all cases.
  • Inspect finished product prior to cased and palletized.
  • Maintain FIFO on supplies.
  • Organize tray label rack and ensure proper tags on partial boxes.
  • Clean spills and breaks in work area.
  • Report machine and quality problems to Supervisor and submit work orders.
  • Operate hand-held scanning device for inventory.
  • Follow GMPs and sanitation requirements.
  • Perform Master Sanitation list tasks when production not running.
  • Maintain safe environment and perform duties safely.
  • Assist in training new operator.
  • Function in team-based structure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Repacking and production of multipack products.

  • Unpack and label filled jars to be packed.
  • Operate Arpac indexer and sealer machine.
  • Pack multipacks into cases and tape closed.
  • Apply finished UPC labels to all cases.
  • Inspects finished product before being cased and palletized.
  • Ensures that FIFO practice is used on all supplies.
  • Maintains the organization of the tray label rack and ensures proper tags are on all partial boxes.
  • Cleans all spills and breaks as they occur in the immediate work area.
  • Reports machine and quality problems to Supervisor as they occur and submits work orders as necessary.
  • Operates hand-held scanning device to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Follows all DFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Performs items on Master Sanitation lists when production is not running.
  • Maintain safe environment and perform other duties in a safe manner at all times.
  • Assists in training new operator.
  • Ability to function in a team-based structure and positively contribute to team based efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Hours 2PM - 10PM - MONDAY - FRIDAY/ Hours & Days may vary due to Product Demand

$18.00/hour

Hourly Increase to $20.16/Hour at 90 Days of Employment

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Ability to use computer based ERP systems and basic computer navigation.
  • 18 years or older.
  • Reliable transportation.
