Credential: The multimodality position is geared towards individuals with additional certifications.
Examples: ARRT (R) or RCIS with additional certification for example CI or VI or CT or MRI or Mammo or both RCIS and ARRT together, RCES is an additional certification. However, can be changed to an Interventional radiology tech or CVIS tech.
Education: Associate's degree in Radiology + ARRT or graduate of a related program.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time day shift position, Monday-Friday, 4 days/week 7am-5:30pm. 4–10 Hour Day Shifts.
Little to no weekend call: 7–9 days of call every 4 weeks for emergent procedures after hours. Call response time to the facility is within 30 minutes of notification. *Very little call on the weekend since they have a weekend tech that takes call. They however take 1 weekend a month off.
Must live within 30 minutes of hospital.

Baylor Scott & White Health Lakeway is a 121‑bed, full‑service hospital. The medical center is a certified primary stroke center, a certified chest pain center. Lakeway has achieved Magnet recognition for its nursing professionalism, teamwork and superiority in patient care.
3 procedure suites. 2 GE fluoroscopy units (soon to be upgraded to Phillips), Siemens biplane system. 12 private room pre/post holding rooms.
- Procedures: Cardiology – left heart catheterization, PFO closure, STEMI/MI, mechanical device insertions, lithotripsy, thrombectomy, renal stenting, peripheral vascular, PCI. Interventional radiology – kyphoplasty, port‑a‑cath placements, biopsies, cryoablations, uterine artery embolization, prostate embolization, GI bleed embolization, thrombectomy, percutaneous drain placement, paracentesis, thoracentesis, fistulograms. Electrophysiology – pacemaker, ablation, cryo‑ablation, pulse field ablation. Population – varies (adult).
Spacious procedure rooms and spread out and support the nurse who is circulating and also the scrub tech, physician. If they need to bring equipment they have the room.
3:1 nurse‑to‑patient ratio for pre/post. Techs rotate modalities and procedures.
Lots of opportunities for staff autonomy and facility‑based/departmental councils to join.

Job Summary
The Multimodality Technologist is supervised by a Radiologist, performs imaging in two or more disciplines. At least 25% of their work focuses on advanced areas like CT, MR, nuclear medicine, or IR. They work with ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or licensed provider for diagnosing disease and injury, following established protocols.
Essential Functions Of The Role
- Performs high-quality multimodality procedures according to exam protocol promptly; maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards.
- Demonstrates an expertise of radiation dose reference levels and monitoring; takes action if the estimated dose exceeds set levels; measures patient follow‑up when reference level is exceeded.
- Demonstrates and knows about proper use of iSTAT point‑of‑care testing for obtaining creatinine levels.
- Utilizes AIDET to communicate with patients; identifies patient service needs and ensures the correct exam is performed on the correct patient; establishes rapport with patients and others; communicates clearly and calmly with patients and their families about the test; assesses the patient's ability to tolerate the exam.
- Prepares the patient and area for the procedure; positions the patient, uses immobilization devices, and moves equipment into position; uses appropriate settings and exposure factors.
- Protects patients and employees by following safety, infection‑control, drug, and radiation policies; uses sterile techniques for invasive procedures and maintains hand hygiene.
- Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards; works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment operation; reports issues to management or the appropriate department; assists in maintaining the supplies inventory; ensures people are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
- Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, policies, and procedures, etc.
- Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate systems, according to department policies and procedures.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program.
- Less than 1 year of experience.
Certification/License/Registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT): Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT), unless the role is MRI or Ultrasound.
