Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Multimodality Technologist to perform imaging procedures supervised by a Radiologist. The role involves working with both ambulatory and hospital patients to accurately diagnose disease and injury using advanced imaging technologies.

Qualified candidates should have graduated from an accredited program and hold necessary certifications. Experience in the field is preferred but not required. This position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of experience required.
• Certification in Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Registration in two imaging modalities required.

Job Summary

The Multimodality Technologist, supervised by a Radiologist, performs imaging in two or more disciplines. At least 25% of their work focuses on advanced areas like CT, MR, Nuclear Medicine, or IR. They work with ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or licensed provider for diagnosing disease and injury, following established protocols.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Perform high‑quality multimodality procedures according to exam protocol promptly and maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards.
• Demonstrate expertise of radiation dose reference levels and monitoring, taking action if the estimated dose exceeds set levels.
• Know proper use of iSTAT point‑of‑care testing for obtaining creatinine levels.
• Utilize AIDET to communicate with patients, establish rapport, and ensure the correct exam is performed on the correct patient.
• Prepare the patient and area for the procedure, position the patient, use immobilization devices, and move equipment into position with appropriate settings and exposure factors.
• Protect patients and employees by following safety, infection‑control, drug, and radiation policies, using sterile techniques for invasive procedures and maintaining hand hygiene.
• Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards, working with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment operation.
• Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, and policies and procedures.
• Maintain medical imaging records in appropriate systems according to department policies and procedures.

• Serve as a preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and training current teams about new services and initiatives.

Certification, licensure, and registration required: Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT), Computed Tomography (NMTB‑CT), Radiation Safety (NMTB‑RS), Nuclear Cardiology Tech (NMTC‑NCT), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Basic Life Support (BLS): within 30 days of hire or transfer. American Reg MRI Tech (ARMRIT), ARRT‑BS, ARRT‑CT, ARRT‑M, ARRT‑MR, ARRT‑N, ARRT‑R, ARRT‑S, ARRT‑VI, Cert Nuclear Med Tech (CNMT), Reg Diag Med Sono‑Abdomen (AB), Reg Diag Med Sono‑Breast (BR), RDMS‑FECat, RDMS‑OB, RDMS‑PS, Registered Vascular Tech (RVT) certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography in two imaging modalities and working routinely in both modalities. Approved modalities include ARRT‑R, ARRT‑CT, ARRT‑CV, ARRT‑M, ARRT‑MR, ARRT‑N, ARRT‑S, ARRT‑VI, ARRT‑BS, ARRT‑CI, RDMS‑AB, RDMS‑BR, RDMS‑FE, RDMS‑OB, RDMS‑PS, RVT, CNMT, NMTCB‑CT, RS, NCT, PET or ARMRIT. ARRT‑CI Cardiac‑Interventional (ARRT‑CI), ARRT‑CV Cardiovascular‑Interventional (ARRT‑CV): licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT), unless the role is MRI and Ultrasound. BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
