Job summary

Duke University seeks a creative Visual Storyteller to lead photography, video, and multimedia content that resonates with research, teaching, and student experiences. You will translate complex ideas into accessible visuals and collaborate with communications and academic partners.

From concept to delivery, you will manage shoots, edit assets, ensure brand consistency, and help maintain Duke's digital asset management. This role offers growth in a dynamic, mission-driven environment at Duke.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Production, or related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum two years of professional media production, photography, or multimedia content creation.
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality visual content across platforms.
Strong understanding of visual storytelling and brand-consistent design.

Responsibilities

Lead visual storytelling initiatives across Duke University brands and platforms.
Create high-impact photography for websites, social, newsletters, publications, and recruitment materials.
Produce multimedia content including short and long-form videos.
Develop and maintain digital assets, metadata, and asset management workflows.
Collaborate with communications, marketing, academic, and administrative partners.
Ensure all content reflects Duke's brand standards and storytelling goals.
Stay informed about trends and technologies in photography, videography, and multimedia.
Assist with equipment inventories and evaluate new tools.
