Job summary

POLITICO is seeking a college student or recent graduate for its Summer 2027 audio/video internship in Arlington, VA. You will support daily production, conduct topic research, and help source archival footage and assets for editorial storytelling across CMS, YouTube, podcasts, and social platforms.

You will work with producers and editors to learn end-to-end production, clipping interviews, recording sessions, transcripts, and real-time production support while building hands-on newsroom

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in multimedia production, editing, podcasting or platform innovation
• Strong passion for journalism, Washington, politics and policy
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadlines
• Excellent news judgement
• Entrepreneurial mindset
• Proven newsroom experience; at least one professional news media internship or job preferred

Responsibilities

• Support daily audio and video production workflows across the team
• Conduct research on topics, individuals and current events to support show editorial process
• Source archival footage, soundbites, and relevant assets for audio and video
• Assist with clipping interviews and live events
• Assist with recording sessions, live transcripts and provide production support in real time
• Help maintain organized production files, metadata, and documentation
• Upload and manage content across CMS, YouTube, podcast, and social platforms
• Collect performance metrics from various platforms
