Job summary

Hearst's 40/29 in Rogers, AR is hiring a Local News Photographer/Editor to capture compelling field footage and edit for newscasts. The role involves shooting, editing, and delivering high-quality video with strong journalistic standards.

You will work with and report to the Chief Photographer, spending hours daily in the field, coordinating with reporters and producers to ensure vivid video and accurate content for broadcast and digital platforms.

Qualifications

• Training in the art of video photojournalism.
• Professional or college newsroom experience.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate ENG trucks.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must edit with Adobe Premiere; knowledge of CNN platforms.
• Ability to organize and prioritize under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Shooting and editing VOs, VO-SOTs, and packages for broadcast and online postings.
• Coordinate with Assignment Desk and Reporters to cover daily stories.
• Shoot on assigned professional camera equipment and edit in Premiere.
• Gather video and still pictures for digital platforms and feed content to the station.
• Publish content to online platforms and ensure content meets quality standards.
• Maintain organization and care of gear and equipment.
