Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is seeking a Multimedia Journalist Reporter to produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit, and feed news content for all platforms. You will report stories, arrange interviews, and ensure accuracy and quality across broadcast and web channels.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent experience, fluent English, and at least two years of reporting experience. Flexibility to work any shift and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent oral and written communication with ability to ad lib.
• Minimum two years of news reporting experience.
• Superior on-air presence.
• Ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Reports news stories for broadcast, describing background and details.
• Arranges interviews with people who can provide information about stories.
• Reviews copy for errors in grammar and punctuation per editorial style.
• Determines story emphasis, length and format; organizes material accordingly.
• Researches background information related to stories for accuracy.
• Pitches stories to editors and producers relevant to the local community.
• Gathers information through interviews, research, or events.
• Shoots and edits news events and reports for all platforms.
• Interacts with viewers on social media and feeds content.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
