The role involves pursuing story ideas, interviewing sources, and delivering clear, accurate news with strong on-air presence. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism or related field, has at least two years of reporting experience, and can meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
• Minimum two years’ experience in news reporting (Depending on market size).
• Superior on-air presence.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Reports news stories for broadcast with background and details.
• Arranges interviews with people who can provide information about stories.
• Gathers information through research and interviews to provide accurate information.
• Pitches stories to news managers and producers relevant to the local community.
• Shoots and edits news events and reports for all platforms.
• Produces and presents reports for all platforms.
• Interacts with viewers on social media sites.
