Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in English with strong written and oral communication.
  • Proven ability to ad lib and present clearly on air.
  • Minimum five years in reporting, anchoring, multimedia journalism, or content creation.
  • Strong on‑air presence and live presentation skills.
  • Storytelling across broadcast, streaming, digital and social platforms.
  • Ability to develop original stories and enterprise content.
  • Experience shooting, writing, editing, and publishing content across platforms.
  • Good news judgment and understanding of community interests.
  • Ability to inform, engage, and connect with diverse audiences.
  • Strong social media and audience engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently with multiple deadlines.
  • Team collaboration and problem solving.
  • Proficiency with newsroom, editing, streaming, and digital publishing tech.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with teams to deliver impactful multi‑platform coverage.
  • Writes and delivers content in a clear, authentic style.
  • Conducts interviews with newsmakers and community figures.
  • Responds to breaking news and newsroom events as needed.
  • Participates in promotions, events, and public appearances.
  • Engages with viewers through social media and other platforms.
  • Ensures content meets journalistic standards and production quality.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.

The MMJ/Anchor creates and presents original news and other interesting content across broadcast, streaming, digital, social, and emerging platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to consumers.

The successful candidate is an enterprising storyteller who can develop story ideas, report, write, shoot, edit, publish, and present content that connects with audiences wherever they consume information.

Responsibilities
  • Creates original news, feature, lifestyle, consumer, and other interesting content through enterprise reporting, research, interviews, and community engagement.
  • Anchors live and recorded programming across broadcast and streaming platforms.
  • Develops original story ideas and content that inform, engage, and grow audiences across multiple platforms.
  • Produces original content for CW39+, including live streams, interviews, feature stories, special projects, and audience‑focused programming.
  • Shoots, writes, edits, publishes, and presents content independently as assigned.
  • Creates content for digital and social platforms, including articles, videos, live streams, and audience engagement initiatives.
  • Identifies trends, issues, people, and stories that matter to local audiences and develops compelling content around them.
  • Collaborates with producers, reporters, photographers, and digital teams to create impactful multi‑platform coverage.
  • Writes and delivers content in a clear, conversational, authentic, and audience‑focused manner.
  • Conducts interviews with newsmakers, community leaders, subject matter experts, and members of the public.
  • Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsroom situations as required.
  • Participates in promotional activities, community events, and public appearances.
  • Engages with viewers and users through social media and other digital platforms.
  • Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity, accuracy, and production quality.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work‑related experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to ad lib when required.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in reporting, anchoring, multimedia journalism, or content creation for news and media platforms.
  • Superior on‑air presence and live presentation skills.
  • Strong storytelling abilities across broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms.
