Job description

You’ll join our client's Publishing and Marketing team, a group of professionals dedicated to developing powerful, high-impact multimedia storytelling for our audiences.

You will work in a tight-knit design team and collaborate closely with designers, video and podcast producers, and editors to support the visual execution of our content across various platforms.

You will play a vital role in supporting our publishing and marketing efforts to help our videos, podcasts, blogs, articles, and emails stand out.

As a multimedia designer, you will focus on the day-to-day creation of engaging visuals and motion graphics by producing high-quality assets across platforms.

In this role, you will use your design skills and eye for detail to ensure our content is visually appealing, on-brand, and optimized for digital distribution.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce high-quality visual assets for daily publication across channels. This includes creating compelling thumbnail and hero assets for articles, videos (for both the client's website and YouTube), blog posts, and podcasts through the curation of stock imagery and video footage, and in collaboration with the video team to gather original material when necessary.
  • Craft eye-catching banners and GIFs for email campaigns.
  • Collaborate with publishing designers to create dynamic video heroes for article pages and engaging, short-form animated assets for our various channels.
  • Prepare, resize, and crop imagery for different platforms, and format visual content for publication.
  • Ensure all visual assets strictly adhere to our brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent and premium identity across all touchpoints.
  • Maintain an organized library of design files, templates, and visual assets to ensure efficient workflows for the broader team.
  • Ensure digital assets are delivered on time in line with the expected creative quality.
  • Work closely with editors, subject matter experts, and marketing teams to ensure that the content aligns with strategic goals.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing deadlines while maintaining a consistently high level of creative and technical quality.
  • Incorporate feedback from producers, senior leaders, stakeholders, and design partners efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist with content publishing in CMS and additional publishing team responsibilities, as needed.

Effective communication, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential to the role.

You will be expected to collaborate effectively working closely with other designers and editors.

You need to be highly organized, capable of managing multiple project work streams at the same time, including use of multiple communications channels and other project tracking tools.

Experience with AI tools is strongly desired — a willingness to experiment with and receive necessary training in AI tools is a requirement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of experience in editorial, graphic, or publishing design
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong focus on Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Experience with and a willingness to experiment with AI tools
  • Experience with After Effects and a demonstrated ability to create basic animations, motion graphics, and short-form video assets
  • Proficiency with professional non-linear editing systems, preferably Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Proven experience designing specific assets for web, email, and social media platforms
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating design skills, as well as motion/animation work
  • Experience with Figma, SharePoint, and AirTable a plus
  • Experience with image sourcing from stock sites.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple quick-turnaround tasks simultaneously
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to take direction, incorporate feedback, and work effectively within a team structure while maintaining established creative and technical standards.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment in a composed manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with producers, editors, designers, experts, and cross-functional stakeholders.
