Job summary

The Council of State Governments (CSG) seeks a Multimedia Designer to advance our graphic and web design initiatives. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress is required to create high-quality assets and ensure a seamless user experience across print, web, and events.

The ideal candidate will design print materials, build WordPress sites, optimize for accessibility and mobile, and support event platforms while collaborating with regional offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, CS, or related field.
• 3–5 years of web design and development experience.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite for digital and print.
• Experience with WordPress and Elementor.
• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and form builders such as JotForm.

Responsibilities

• Design print materials (flyers, signage, program booklets) reflecting the CSG brand.
• Build and maintain WordPress sites using Elementor; ensure mobile responsiveness.
• Apply SEO practices (metadata, alt text, site structure, page speed).
• Create forms and data collection tools in JotForm and related platforms.
• Manage event-related digital solutions (registration systems, dashboards, microsites) within Cvent.
• Support regional offices and affiliates with design, web, and event platform needs.
• Stay current with design trends and web tools to improve digital capabilities.

Job Summary

The Multimedia Designer will play a key role in advancing the organization's graphic and web design initiatives. This position requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress and a strong eye for design. The ideal candidate will enhance the organization's digital presence by creating and maintaining high-quality assets, supporting the digital needs of the organization , and ensuring seamless functionality and user experience across print, web and event management solutions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Design visually compelling print materials such as flyers, signage and program booklets using Adobe creative Suite and Canva that reflect the CSG brand.
• Design, build and maintain visually compelling, user-centered websites using WordPress and Elementor.
• Optimize websites for mobile responsiveness, accessibility standards.
• Apply SEO best practices, including metadata, alt text, site structure and page speed, to improve search visibility.
• Build and manage forms, workflows, and data collection tools in JotForm and related platforms.
• Manage event-related digital solutions, including event registration systems, reporting dashboards, and microsite development within Cvent and other platforms.
• Support regional offices and affiliate organizations with design, web, and event platform needs.
• Stay ahead of evolving design trends, web tools, and technologies to continuously improve the organization's digital capabilities and aesthetics.
• Edit short-form video for web and social use.
• Attending events and meetings to provide on-site support as needed.

Skills And Abilities

• Strong proficiency in WordPress and Elementor.
• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and form builders such as JotForm.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) for digital and print design.
• Video editing experience for short-form web and social content preferred.
• Working knowledge of PHP, JavaScript and related web development technologies preferred.
• Experience with Cvent platform management and troubleshooting preferred.
• Experience building or managing databases preferred.
• Experience with animation (motion graphics, GIFs, or basic After Effects work) is preferred.
• Collaborative mindset with effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills including self-awareness, sensitivity and valuing others.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Computer Science, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in web design and development.

Compensation

The salary range for this position, based in Lexington, KY, is $52,000 to $60,000. This salary range is subject to change based on work location and market conditions.
