Job summary

Tulane University is seeking a Communications Specialist for the School of Social Work to lead all communications efforts. The role includes writing for internal and external audiences, managing projects, and producing content across web, ads, and social channels.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate AP style mastery, video production ability, CMS proficiency (Drupal), and strong collaboration with faculty and stakeholders. Hybrid or on-site options may apply.

Qualifications

• Outstanding written communication and editorial skills using AP Style.
• Must be organized, self-sufficient, and able to work autonomously as well as in a team.
• Ability to produce in-house videos (filming, script writing, editing).
• Proficiency in content management systems including Drupal.
• Proficiency in multimedia/creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and/or Final Cut Pro.
• Proficiency and track record in social media platform creation, content management, and posting.
• Proficient computer skills with knowledge of applications applicable to the responsibilities of the position.
• Strong public speaking, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications projects for the Tulane School of Social Work.
• Write long-form feature content and web, advertising, and social copy.
• Create and edit storytelling content for PR, marketing, and social media initiatives.
• Manage content across multiple channels and platforms.
• Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to translate complex ideas into compelling communications.
