Job summary

LAC Federal is seeking a Library Technician to support accessioning, receiving, maintenance, preservation and inventory for a large national library. The ideal candidate will have foreign language proficiency, prior experience with library collections and careful handling of materials in an ILS like Voyager.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional library experience, with a demonstrated ability to work with large collections and follow federal standards for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least two years of professional library experience.
• Ability to maintain security, handling, and accountability of collections under federal standards.
• Experience in a large library environment with 500,000+ volumes.
• Proficiency in at least one foreign language.

Responsibilities

• Accession monographic and serial items in the ILS.
• Use ILS and online resources to identify information on items.
• Process materials checked-in or cataloged by other divisions.
• Identify duplicates or superseded materials.
• Respond to inquiries about workflows or material locations.
