Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks an experienced engineer to join the PPTT Project Team for the PPTT Simulator Engineering program, supporting the Navy’s Next Generation Training Program. Position can be Bettis Site (PA) or Kesselring Site (NY), with on-site work at either location.

Responsibilities include planning across the project lifecycle, stakeholder coordination, design reviews, supplier testing, and inspections to ensure compliance and technical accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/Doctorate in a related technical field with years of relevant experience per posting.
• Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or RPCO Engineer at the Company is an allowed alternative.
• Experience with design reviews and supplier interactions preferred.

Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project. PPTT Simulator Engineering (PSE) is a multi-site unit engaged in the design, production, testing, and delivery of the PPTT to support the Next Generation Training Program. PSE's primary focus is PPTT components and modules, the interactive portion of the simulated environment, which will be integrated into the first-of-a-kind PPTT that will transform Navy training for decades to come.

An exciting opportunity is now available for a multidisciplined engineer to support these ongoing efforts. This posting is open to engineers willing to work at the Bettis Site (PA) or Kesselring Site (NY).

Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program
• Experience in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program
• Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software
• Experience evaluating designs and production equipment against technical requirements

Pay Range

$95,700.00 - $149,600.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
