Job summary

MICA Steelworks is seeking a skilled Multidirectional Forklift Operator for our warehouse and material handling team. The role focuses on safe movement and storage of materials, especially long or oversized loads within the facility.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of experience operating multidirectional or sideloader forklifts, with forklift certification and the ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and health tests. OSHA safety standards apply throughout daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 to 3 years of experience operating multidirectional, sideloader, or 4 directional forklifts.
• Forklift certification required.
• Background checks, drug screening, physical, audiogram, and vision test must be passed.
• Preferred: experience handling long materials such as beams, pipes, or lumber.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems or barcode scanners.
• Additional certifications in material handling or heavy equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate multidirectional forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials.
• Maneuver long and bulky materials through tight spaces and narrow aisles.
• Perform daily preshift inspections on forklifts to ensure safety.
• Report equipment issues or maintenance requirements to supervisors promptly.
• Assist with inventory control, order picking, and staging of materials for production or shipment.
• Maintain accurate movement records using barcode scanners or inventory software.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Use required PPE and follow load securement procedures.
• Work closely with production teams, shipping personnel, and supervisors to support material flow.
• Communicate clearly regarding material locations, shortages, and workflow updates.
