Job summary

American Converting Co LTD is seeking a Multi Craft-Maintenance Technician in Lincolnton, NC. The role covers installing, trouble-shooting and maintaining plant machinery, with emphasis on safety and quality. Shift: Day; essential to perform preventive maintenance and respond to issues promptly.

You will work with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and welding tasks, following procedures and paperwork accurately. Eligible candidates bring experience and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems of plant/production machinery.
  • Follow safety and company policies including housekeeping and reporting issues immediately.
  • Complete regular inspection of equipment and disassemble/repair bearings, seals, gears as needed.
  • Complete all paperwork neatly and in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical problems using precision maintenance techniques.
  • Follow up with work orders to ensure proper repair.
  • Perform maintenance to prevent downtime by completing regular PMs.
  • Work within specifications and drawings to minimize waste and meet dates.
  • Ensure maintenance of converting plant process equipment to meet operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with maintenance crew on mechanical, fabrication, plumbing, and welding tasks.
  • Comply with laws and regulations including OSHA safety rules and SOPs.
  • Communicate effectively with management, employees, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems; experience with industrial PCs, networking and troubleshooting.
  • Read schematics and troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic systems, PLCs and motors.
  • Strong background in maintenance and electrical wiring codes; organized and clean workspace.
  • Attendance must be exemplary; flexible hours and extended hours as needed.

Work with maintenance crew to carry out maintenance and repair projects in mechanical, fabrication, plumbing, welding functions


Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including federal and/or state required environmental systems, OSHA Safety and Health rules, fire and electrical safety codes and manuals, and standard operating procedures


Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including Management, employees, and vendors


Working knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Systems, computers in an industrial environment including hardware, software configuration and troubleshooting, network configuration and troubleshooting


Ability to read schematics and trouble-shoot various pneumatic, hydraulic systems, PLC’s and motors


Strong maintenance, plumbing, electrical background (manufacturing preferred) in AC/DC motor control, troubleshooting, and electrical wiring codes


Must be well organized and keep the working area clean at all times


Attendance must be exemplary at all times

Shift: Day 6:00am - 4:00pm (Monday - Thursday) 6:00am - 12:00pm (Friday)


POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, trouble-shooting, repairing, and general maintenance of mechanical systems of plant/production machinery.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:


  • Follow all safety and company policies and procedures including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents or incidents immediately; must complete online safety training each month as assigned

  • Level and parallel rolls, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.

  • Complete regular inspection of equipment to help identify mechanical/electrical issues or concerns and disassemble, repair, replace bearings, seals, gears, etc. as needed.

  • Complete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and in accordance with Company guidelines.

  • Analyze, trouble-shoot, and repair mechanical problems of plant machinery using precision maintenance techniques.

  • Follow up with work orders to ensure the problem is repaired properly.
