Job summary

PD Inc is seeking a Multi-vendor Database Administrator to support DoD environments. The role requires Oracle, MS SQL, and opensource databases, with an Active Secret Clearance and onsite work in Utah.

Responsibilities include security hardening, performance tuning, automation of vulnerability management, and implementing STIGs across diverse UNIX-based databases. Must be US citizen and hold DoD-focused certifications.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five+ years of database management experience in UNIX environments.
  • Five+ years of cybersecurity and server hardening experience.
  • Three+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Current 8570/8140 certification with database focus.

  • Evaluate DISA cybersecurity STIGs and automation opportunities.
  • Analyze customer data requirements and specifications.
  • Create automated solutions for vulnerability lifecycle management of databases.
  • Implement and maintain security controls across Oracle, DB2, MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL on UNIX.
  • Perform performance tuning and coordinate with DISA personnel.

PD Inc International is seeking an experienced and mission-driven DBA, Oracle, MS SQL, and Opensource Databases - Key Personnel to provide expertise in schema and instance configuration support in a U.S. government (DoD) environment.

Education Requirement
  • Pursuing bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Years of Experience
  • Five + years of relevant/recent experience with database management using Shell Scripting, Java, SQL and XML in UNIX environments.
  • Five + years of relevant/recent experience with cybersecurity and server hardening.
  • Three + years of relevant/recent experience with Microsoft Office products.
Certification Requirements
  • Current 8570/8140 requirement certification with database focus

  • Active Secret Clearance, onsite
Requirements
Subtask – DBA
  • Evaluate DISA cybersecurity STIGs, tools and processes to identify and implement consolidation, integration, and a utomation opportunities. This effort will focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of J-9 HaC services.
  • Analyze and understand customer data requirements and specifications.
  • Create and maintain automated solutions for vulnerability lifecycle management of database applications, utilizing Shell Scripting, Java, and UNIX environments.
  • Create and maintain automated database reporting solutions using Extensible Markup Language (XML) interfaces.
  • Implement and maintain security controls for database environments (Oracle, International Business Machines DataBase2 (IBM DB2), MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL) hosted on UNIX environments, adhering to all applicable DoD security.
  • Conduct performance tuning activities designed to optimize data management processes.
  • Coordinate with Strategic Partners and/or DISA personnel prior to development, testing or implementation.
  • Conduct functional testing of developed solutions; create and maintain supporting documentation; and provide Tier III application support for developed tools.
  • Maintain the development environment and ensure compliance with all relevant security guidance.
  • Create and maintain documentation for software releases supporting user base; maintain code control using the Government-defined software repository.
  • Participate in normal sprint releases meeting stakeholders' timelines, as well as emergency software releases when dictated by operational tempo.
  • Provide A&A for Strategic Partners.
  • Complete peer code reviews as required.

  • Documentation of the peer code review process and findings
  • Also includes Deliverables that apply to all tasks listed in section 6, Performance Requirements.
