Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Sales Tax Accountant for our Garden City, NY client. The role focuses on preparing and supporting multi-state sales and use tax filings, registrations, and compliance, as the company expands across jurisdictions.

You will reconcile accounts, manage exemption documents, and collaborate with accounting and operations to improve tax processes and reporting. A strong background in Excel and ERP systems is required, with Sage Intacct preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of sales and use tax or related accounting/compliance experience.
• Experience with multi-state sales tax filings, registrations, and jurisdictional requirements.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems (Sage Intacct preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Taxation, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support sales and use tax filings across multiple state and local jurisdictions.
• Research tax requirements and manage registrations as the business expands into new jurisdictions.
• Reconcile sales tax accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain exemption documentation and support sales tax audits, notices, and compliance requests.
• Partner with accounting and operations teams to improve sales tax processes and reporting.
