Job summary

CBS News Atlanta is seeking a highly skilled photojournalist to shoot and edit news stories across linear, digital and streaming platforms. The role includes setting up live shots, using professional audio equipment, and working independently or alongside anchors while maintaining high journalistic standards in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have a BA degree and 3–5 years of Photography/Editing experience in a major market, and familiarity with the Atlanta area.

Qualifications

• B.A. degree preferred; 3–5 years Photography/Editing experience in a major market required.
• Extensive knowledge of the Atlanta area preferred.
• Three to five years of experience operating an ENG Live Van.
• Candidate must edit on nonlinear systems with broadcast quality; satellite uplink truck experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Must troubleshoot minor equipment problems in the field and monitor/perform basic vehicle maintenance.
• A positive approach to problem-solving is essential.
• Photojournalists will work in various environmental conditions depending on the news cycle and assignment.
• Edit a 2-minute news package in 30 minutes or less on Grass Valley nonlinear edit system.
• Edit content for all social platforms creatively with high standards and attention to detail.
• Ingest media efficiently and manage media assets.
• Willingness to work holidays, nights, weekends; travel on short notice.
• Producing Nat packages is a plus.

CBS News Atlanta has built a brand-new team and we're looking for highly skilled photojournalists. Duties include the shooting and editing of news stories. This position will support our newsroom operations across linear, digital, and streaming platforms. The role also includes setting up live shots, using professional audio equipment, working independently or alongside anchors/reporters, and maintaining high journalistic standards. Candidates must be able to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• This physical job requires the candidate to be physically fit to avoid injuries.

• Drive news vehicles to news story locations, and edit footage in confined areas/space.
