CGL delivers planning, design, program management, and maintenance solutions for justice and other public facilities across the U.S. and worldwide. Through CGL Facility Management, LLC, we provide comprehensive contract maintenance services to commercial clients.A day in the lifeYour morning begins by scanning job requests and open work orders to set priorities across multiple sites. You meet briefly with your maintenance team to assign corrective and preventive tasks on MEP systems so HVAC, electrical, gas, and other utilities remain uninterrupted. As the day moves, you walk facilities—inside and out—verifying conformance with operational standards, safety requirements, and OSHA regulations. You enforce strict tool control and ensure company and client policies are followed.Between inspections, you coordinate vendor visits, requisition tools, equipment, and materials, and deliver on-the-job training to sharpen skills, reinforce SOPs, and onboard new team members. You coach and evaluate performance, make promotional and disciplinary recommendations, and keep your supervisor informed on work order status, project progress, staffing and attendance, and resource utilization to keep costs in check and labor effective.Unexpected issues happen—life safety or security alarms, mechanical failures, or urgent client needs. You respond, stabilize the situation, and redeploy resources. Before wrapping up, you conduct quality control checks on completed work orders, document records and reports, and refine procedures that improve operations and reduce operating costs. Throughout the day, you represent CGL professionally with clients, the public, vendors, and the site management team to meet shared objectives.Note: This role requires regular driving between locations to conduct company business—either in a company vehicle (frequency may vary) or in a personal or rental vehicle more than 50% of the time. What you’ll leadDaily review and prioritization of job requests and work ordersSupervision of corrective and preventive maintenance on MEP systems for continuous utilitiesRoutine facility and grounds inspections for operational and safety complianceImplementation and monitoring of policies and procedures to improve operations and control costsRequisitioning of tools, equipment, and supplies to support maintenance activitiesStrict enforcement of tool control and adherence to company and client policiesStaff onboarding, training, orientation, and ongoing formal/informal performance evaluationsCollaboration with leadership to resolve maintenance challenges and personnel mattersOSHA compliance and strong, professional interactions with the public, vendors, and staffEmergency response as needed; preparation of records, reports, and documentationRegular quality control inspections and reinforcement of standard operating proceduresEducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAdvanced training or a degree in building maintenance or skilled trades (or related experience) requiredBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field preferredExperienceAt least 1 year in facilities management and/or related correctional facility experience required5+ years of skilled commercial maintenance in one or more: HVAC, Electrical, Electronics, Plumbing, Locksmithing, Security Controls, Life Safety; or equivalent education/experience3+ years in a supervisory capacity requiredSkills and qualitiesProficient with MS Office, Outlook, and internet-based toolsWorking knowledge of OSHA codes and regulationsInfluential leader and team player with strong work ethic and service mindsetExceptional organization; able to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-moving environmentClear communicator who motivates, delegates, and provides constructive feedbackStrong interpersonal skills; collaborates effectively at all levels and with client customersLicenses and certificationsValid, in-state Driver’s License requiredCertain client sites may require certifications (e.g., CFC Universal)BenefitsWe offer competitive pay plus a comprehensive package: paid time off, medical, dental, life and disability insurance, HSA/FSA, retirement, rewards programs, and more.Click Here for Benefits Overviewhttps://cglcompanies.com/careers/working-at-cgl/EEO/ADAThe Company and its affiliates provides equal employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of their race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by state, federal, or local law.
