WJLA 7 News in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced, self-starting Multi-Platform Content Producer to join our team. If you are highly organized, with strong news judgment and attention to detail — the best newsroom in the Nation's Capital may be the place for you!

The Successful Candidate will gather information from diverse sources, write and edit stories, and post content across website and social platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field preferred.
• Three years of desk and/or digital newsroom experience in a commercial TV station.
• Commitment to journalistic standards and ethics.
• Strong communicator.
• Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude, thrives in a high-energy, collaborative newsroom environment.
• Willing and able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong copy-editing skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain contacts.
• Familiarity with iNews, Adobe Suite, Capsule, Tagboard, Streamyard and Storyline CMS is a plus.

The hourly compensation range for this role is $26.92 to $31.73. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
