Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Radiology Technologist to prepare and operate x-ray equipment during diagnostic patient exams, following physician orders and safety protocols to capture the required images.

The role requires patient preparation, accurate image capture, and competency in essential clinical techniques while maintaining records and logs and supporting general office duties such as scheduling and supply ordering.

Qualifications

• Basic CPR and vital sign assessment as part of patient monitoring.
• Proficient in performing electrocardiograms (ECG).
• Competent wound care including suture setup and splinting as needed.
• Ability to conduct Point of Care testing in clinical settings.
• Follows department safeguards and protocols for imaging exams.

Responsibilities

Responsible for preparing and operating x-ray equipment during diagnostic patient exams while exercising procedures safely and accurately to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis.

Principal Accountabilities

• Prepares equipment for imaging tests, based on physicians' orders and in adherence to department safeguards and protocols to ensure quality results.
• Prepares patient and performs radiology procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and clinical techniques with scope of practice such as basic CPR, vital signs, visual acuity, electrocardiogram, wound care including suture set-up, orthopedic splinting, Point of Care testing, assisting with eye and ear irrigation, blood glucose checks and throat swab specimen collection and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
• Maintains records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements.
• Performs incidental general office duties to include answering phone; scheduling; filing; maintaining patient records; ordering supplies.
• Other relevant duties as assigned.
