Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform routine and specialized imaging procedures across CT, MRI, Mammography, and Interventional Radiology in accordance with facility protocols. Under supervision, you will select technical factors, administer contrast, and ensure patient safety.

You will document patient care activities in electronic health records, maintain supplies and equipment, and participate in departmental performance improvement and training

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in radiologic technology from an accredited program.
• ARRT-registered radiologic technologist required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized imaging procedures in CT, MRI, Mammography, and Interventional Radiology per facility protocols.
• Select accurate technical factors and administer contrast as needed while ensuring patient safety.
• Document patient care activities in electronic health records.
• Maintain supplies and inventory; report equipment/environment issues per policy.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement and training activities.

Job Requirements Must have CT CertificationSchedule: 3-12's | MID-DAY | 1130a-12aOverview:Under general supervision, performs routine and specialized diagnostic imaging procedures in at least two imaging modalities.

Key Responsibilities

• Key Responsibility 1: Executes basic clinical competence in general radiology, in all locations across all patient types; in addition, performs exams and procedures as needed in one of the following modalities: CT, MRI, Mammography, and/or Interventional Radiology in accordance to facility protocols. Selects accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient. Administers contrast according to facility policy.
• Key Responsibility 2: Applies knowledge of radiology principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation/MR safety and physics, patient positioning and patient care skills. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
• Key Responsibility 3: Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
• Key Responsibility 4: Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area. Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
• Key Responsibility 5: Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality. Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.

Work Experience Qualifications

• EducationAssociate degree, Certificate, or advanced degree in radiologic technology, or modalities of employment, from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
