Job summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista in San Luis Obispo, CA, is seeking a Radiology Technologist to operate radiographic, CT, ultrasound, MRI, NM and/or mammography equipment and contribute to departmental goals.

The role requires ARRT certification, an ARRT-CT or ARRT-M or equivalent, BLS, and at least an Associate’s degree in radiologic technology; a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 3 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.

• Current certification in at least one other modality is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates radiographic, mammographic, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and ultrasound equipment.

• Performs at least three modalities competently.

Job Summary

Responsible for the operation of x-ray, computed tomography, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine and/or mammography equipment. Assists in accomplishing departmental objectives and goals. Helps create an environment that enables the medical imaging department to meet operational goals. Performs at least three of the modalities listed on a regular basis. This position is represented by SEIU.

Education and Work Experience

• Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Required
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• Three years' technical experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification: Required
• Must have a current certification in one of the modalities and able to perform duties in at least one other advanced modality: Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography(M), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine (NM), Sonography(S) or Positron Emission Tomography (PET): Required
• ARRT-Radiography (ARRT-R): Required

Essential Functions

• Performs various radiographic, mammographic, computed tomography and/or ultrasound examinations consistent with employee's experience. Performs three modalities competently.
• Safely transports and transfers patients between gurneys and wheelchairs. Tests defibrillator and checks the integrity of crash cart. Performs mobile imaging examinations as necessary.
• Safely prepares contrast agents for Medical Imaging procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
