Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX seeks a Student Tech to support daily operations in the radiology department. The role emphasizes patient care, collaboration with radiologists, and adherence to safety and quality guidelines.

You will assist with procedures, prepare rooms and equipment, and learn scanning techniques under supervision. Requires enrollment in an educational program and CPR certification, with certification to be attained within 6 months of graduation.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification.
• Must be enrolled in an Educational program in line with their Student tech position.
• Must attain Certification within 6 months of graduating educational program.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of procedures.
• Assist Radiologist and Staff Physicians with tests.
• Demonstrates skills needed for designated modality.
• Demonstrates good patient care.
• Utilizes the appropriate scanning skills required for the modality.
• The Student Tech will work cohesively with a Tech and follow guidance from the Technologist.
• Demonstrates good communication between the student and the Technologist.
• Will report to modality Supervisor.
• Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors and employees.
• Will report any risks to patient safety and activate the chain of command when needed.
• Complies with standards relating to patients, infection control and environmental issues.
