Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. in Des Moines is seeking a versatile newsroom professional to contribute to WHO 13 content through on-air, online and social platforms. You will write, shoot, edit video and sound, and help enterprise and report live-breaking news under deadline pressure.

Required: valid driver’s license, computer literacy, experience with Final Cut Pro, and 2 years in television news reporting/writing. A 4-year college degree is preferred.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB:

• Ability to write web, text, and social-media versions of news stories.
• Ability to shoot and to edit video and sound.
• Ability to operate ENG Live truck.
• Ability to enterprise news stories.
• Ability to write and interpret broadcast-news copy.
• Ability to report live-breaking news.
• Ability to handle deadline pressure.
• Ability to drive news vehicles when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Valid driver’s license
