Job summary

Covia is seeking a dynamic Maintenance person to support operations at our Hephzibah, GA plant. You will help ensure safe, efficient production by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and coordinating with operations and contractors.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, mechanical/multi-craft experience, and the ability to work overtime and wear PPE. Knowledge of electrical systems and PLCs is a plus, and a manufacturing/mining environment background is

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Vocational training preferred.
  • Experience as a mechanic or multi-craft technician mandatory.
  • Experience working with electricity preferred.
  • PLC programming experience is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a mining environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Report malfunctions of equipment and process deficiencies.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and calibrations.
  • Examine work orders and converse with operators to detect problems.
  • Plan maintenance work with operations and contractors.
  • Maintain parts inventory and keep work area clean.
  • Backfill operations personnel when needed.
