Qualifications

  • Postsecondary completion of Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or EMT program is required.
  • Some college coursework in an accredited nursing program with at least 1 semester completed is required.
  • CNA/CMA/EMT certification upon hire is required; BCLS certification upon hire; EKG certification preferred.
  • 1+ year hospital patient care experience preferred; Monitor Tech course completion required as part of education/training.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care tasks including hygiene support and vital sign monitoring.
  • Provide EKG and telemetry monitoring.
  • Assist with ambulation and feeding; document intake/output and abnormal findings.
  • Maintain unit cleanliness and handle clerical tasks.
  • Serve as a liaison with patient families and staff.

Job Summary
  • The Multi-Care Technician II (MCT II) builds on foundational skills to deliver patient care and monitor telemetry. This position supports patient care activities, performs EKGs, assists in daily living tasks, and functions as a Monitor Tech. Works under the supervision of an RN.
Essential Functions
  • Perform patient care tasks, including hygiene support and monitoring vital signs.
  • Provide EKG and telemetry monitoring.
  • Assist with ambulation and feeding.
  • Document intake/output and abnormal findings.
  • Maintain unit cleanliness and complete clerical tasks.
  • Serve as a liaison with patient families and staff.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
  • Ability to lift/move patients and equipment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer use.
  • Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with infection control and hospital safety standards.
Qualifications
Education
  • Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) completion of Nursing Asst, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Tech program (Required) Or
  • Some College Coursework Completed in an accredited school of nursing to include successful completion of at least 1 semester. (Required)
Licenses/Certifications
  • CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant or CMA or EMT Upon Hire (Required) Or
  • Other: Current enrollment in an accredited school of nursing Upon Hire (Required) And
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire or within facility-specified time frame (Required) And
  • EKG - Electrocardiogram Certification Upon Hire (Preferred)
Experience
  • 1+ years patient care experience in a hospital setting (Preferred) And
  • Combination of Education and Training that includes successful completion of Monitor Tech Course (Required)
