Portfolio Strategist

Portfolio Strategy Group provides portfolio-level, cross-asset support for Nuveen's institutional and wealth clients.

Working across Nuveen's investment platform and partnering with product, distribution, and investment teams, this role translates investment insights into actionable portfolio solutions.

The Portfolio Strategist serves in a highly visible, client-facing capacity, engaging directly with wealth advisors, intermediary clients, and key client relationships. This individual will be responsible for delivering portfolio advice, market perspectives, and customized investment solutions while helping clients navigate complex investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Serve as a trusted partner to wealth advisors on portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment strategy.
• Participate in client meetings, advisor presentations, and portfolio review discussions.
• Present portfolio recommendations and market insights to wealth advisor audiences.
• Partner with distribution teams to support client engagement and business development opportunities.
• Translate complex investment concepts into clear, actionable guidance for clients and advisors.
• Represent the team through thought leadership, webinars, conferences, and other client-facing events.
• Contribute to investment research, market commentary, and portfolio strategy thought leadership.
• Partner across the organization to influence portfolio solutions, client outcomes, and strategic initiatives.

Educational Requirements

University (Degree) Preferred.

Work Experience: 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred.

FINRA Registrations: SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63.

Physical Requirements

Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work.

Preferred Qualifications

CFA preferred or working towards completion. Client facing experience with a US Wealth Manager. Bloomberg Analytics proficiency a plus.

Base Pay Range

$114,000/yr - $143,000/yr. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
