Job summary

RBC in Minneapolis seeks a Multi-Asset Portfolio Analytics Analyst to drive operational excellence by executing core workflows, maintaining portfolio data, and designing quantitative models within the MAPT for RBC Portfolio Blueprint.

You will collaborate with investment committees, enhance data gathering, and deliver timely analytics and reports using Python, SQL, and Tableau to support asset allocation and portfolio construction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, or Math.
  • 1–5 years of financial industry experience.
  • Knowledge of investment performance and risk analysis for multi-asset portfolios.
  • Knowledge of Python; ability to learn SQL and data visualization tools.

Job Description What is the opportunity? As a Multi-Asset Portfolio Analytics Analyst you will be responsible for driving operational excellence by executing and enabling core workflows while identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements and analytical/technological enhancements. Reporting directly to the Director, Multi-Asset Portfolio Strategist this role serves as a critical operational/analytical backbone — ensuring accurate, timely delivery of portfolio data, analytics, and insights that enable the MAPT to deliver RBC Portfolio Blueprint. Your role represents an opportunity to apply systems thinking to enhance portfolio operations holistically, while using/building expertise in technical analytics, quantitative modeling, and process design while deepening your knowledge of capital markets, investing principles and portfolio management.

The position is part of the Portfolio Advisory Group (PAG). PAG’s mandate is to enable RBC Wealth Management’s (RBCWM) financial advisors to consistently deliver investment advice and solutions to their clients with the highest level of competency and confidence. Within PAG the Multi-Asset Portfolio Team (MAPT) is responsible for the development, maintenance, and promotion of RBC Portfolio Blueprint. RBC Portfolio Blueprint is RBC Wealth Management’s multi-asset portfolio framework for coordinated investment advice and solutions. It is the full spectrum of investment advice and solutions including Strategic Asset Allocation, Active Asset Allocation, Investment Policy, Investment Selection, and Discretionary Portfolios.

What will you do? Multi-Asset Portfolio Analytics/Operations.

  • Assist the Multi-Asset Portfolio Team (MAPT) with broad general support of the suite of discretionary multi-asset portfolios
  • This role has ownership of the creation and maintenance of detailed portfolio data within the portfolio analytics software
  • Position offers the opportunity to recommend and execute improvements to efficiency and effectiveness of our data gathering/data analysis/operating and reporting processes
  • Collaborate with Multi-Asset Portfolio Risk Analyst to ensure consistent/timely distribution of accurate investment committee reports

Collaborate with U.S. Investment Committee (USIC) members to manage a suite of discretionary portfolios.

  • Aid in the coordination and participate in USIC and other investment committee meetings
  • Partner with investment committee colleagues to create quantitative data-driven models that aid in the identification of market opportunities
  • Gather, organize, and analyze data as part of monitoring/evaluating investment decisions
  • Aid in the trading workflow process to ensure effective communication of duties and smooth execution

Participate in activities to ensure the successful development, management, and promotion RBCWM Strategic Asset Allocation framework.

  • Partner with Multi-Asset Portfolio Investment Analyst on the annual capital market assumptions and strategic asset allocation refresh
  • This includes using analytical and technical skills to assist in development and maintenance of databases and quantitative models

What do you need to succeed? Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Statistics, or Math
  • 1-5 years’ financial industry experience
  • Basic knowledge of investment performance and risk analysis, particularly as it relates to multi-asset portfolio management
  • Knowledge of or desire to learn Python
  • Ability to work with databases and querying languages such as SQL
  • Data visualization tools experience such as Tableau
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data modeling
  • Knowledge of AI tools and proactive in exploring and implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance productivity and workflow
  • Curiosity for learning new software applications. This role is seeking a candidate who wants to advance their technical capabilities. A successful candidate will enjoy the opportunity to learn/apply technical skills

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with key analytical platforms or similar financial software — FactSet, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct
  • Experienced in investment management concepts such as risk measurement and reporting, performance attribution, asset allocation, and portfolio construction
  • Experience in a regulated financial services environment

The expected salary range for this particular position is $70,000-$130,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
