Job summary

Halliburton seeks a Mud Engineer to provide well site services on a 12-month contract in the United States. You will oversee colloidal chemistry, hydraulics calculations, and tailored testing to optimize drilling fluids and wellbore value.

The role includes mentoring field staff and ensuring safety compliance on site. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 10 years in a similar fluid services role, and Halliburton mud training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Undergraduate degree in any discipline preferred.
• Must have a valid Mud School Certification.
• Must have completed mud training at Halliburton and 10 years in fluid services.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Fluid Service Representative role.
• Drilling fluids experience (US Land).
• Strong computer literacy and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of colloidal and general chemistry, volume and hydraulics calculations and routine and specialized testing to varied field experiences.
• Provides guidance and formal training to fluid service representatives on company products and services and drilling fluid technology.
• Conducts and interprets routine and specialized testing to maximize wellbore value.
• Tracks material usage and maintains records for inventory and billing.
• Maintains good relationship with operator representatives and rig personnel; assists in operations planning and optimization.
• Reviews well recaps for accuracy and captures lessons learned; mentors Field Service Representatives.
• Complies with health, safety and environment regulations in all aspects of job performance.

Job description

The Mud Engineer under general supervision, provides well site service to customers of the Company.

• Pay Rate: Up to $31.00/hour, depending on experience
• Assignment Length: 12-month contract with the high possibility of extension or conversion based on performance and other factors
• Shift Details: 7 days on, 7 days off | 14 days on, 14 days off
• Accommodation: While on rotation to a basin, you will be housed in a “Workforce Lodge” with a per diem of $25/day or provided hotel-based housing.
• Mileage Reimbursement: From closest stockpoint to Location.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of colloidal and general chemistry, volume and hydraulics calculations and routine and specialized testing to varied field experiences.
• Provides guidance, including facilitating formal training, to fluid service representatives on company products and services, how drilling fluid technology can optimize service quality, industry knowledge, operator scheduled, rig schedules and rig operations.
• Conducts and interprets routine and specialized testing that provide technical guidance of Company's customized engineering fluids to maximize wellbore value.
• Tracks material usage and maintains record of same for inventory and billing purposes.
• Maintains good working relationship with operator's representative and rig personnel, and assists the operator's representative in specific operations planning and drilling operation optimization.
• Assists the Company's office in well planning and business delivery activities, reviews well recaps for accuracy and capture of lessons learned, and takes an active role in mentoring Field Service Representatives.
• Complies with health, safety and environment regulations in all aspects of job performance.
