Job summary

eBay seeks a seasoned Android engineer to build native Android features end-to-end, from coding to production support, upholding ownership and quality.

You will contribute to architecture decisions, mentor teammates, and raise the bar with reusable components while collaborating across product and design.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in native Android development using Kotlin (and familiarity with Java).
• Deep proficiency in Jetpack Compose and the Android View system.
• Solid understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and modular app design at scale.
• Strong networking skills, including experience with GraphQL and RESTful APIs in a consumer Android context.
• Excellent decision-making skills - able to navigate ambiguity, weigh trade-offs, and drive sound technical choices with good judgment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and design.
• Experience in mentoring peers and contributing positively to team culture and engineering practices.
• High learning ability, growth mindset in both technical and cross-functional areas.
• Experience with Gradle and CI/CD pipelines for mobile development.

The Homepage is the first thing buyers see when they open the eBay app - a high-traffic, high-impact surface that drives engagement, personalization, and commerce at scale. What You Will Bring

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below.

$118,800 - $205,600

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
