Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is seeking a MTS Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and optimize low-level GPU-driven graphics technology. You will collaborate with internal and external graphics partners to integrate and optimize AMD gaming tech in products or games.

The role emphasizes using machine learning and graphics APIs to write efficient shaders for real-time rendering and AI-powered workloads across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Alternate: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent with five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience.
  • Design, implementation, debugging, and maintenance of graphics technology sub-systems.
  • Programming in C or C++.
  • Utilizing 3D GPU-accelerated graphics to create applications with interactive visual elements.
  • Working with High-Level Shading Language (HLSL) to write programs for GPUs.
  • CPU and GPU optimization to maximize hardware performance for applications.
  • Modern graphics standards such as DX12 and/or Vulkan.
  • Experience building and optimizing software for PC GPU gaming, gaming consoles, or handhelds.
  • Using DirectX and Direct3D to create high-performance multimedia applications.
  • GPU programming to leverage GPUs for AI, scientific simulations, or gaming.

Job Role and Responsibility:

AMD, Inc., is hiring a MTS Software Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and optimize low-level GPU driven graphics technology. The successful candidate will be tasked with working both with internal and external graphics and gaming technology development partners to integrate, analyze, and optimize AMD gaming technologies into related products or games. The candidate will make use of Machine Learning technologies and low level graphics APIs to write efficient shaders that will power the next generation of real-time graphics processing.

Alternate combination of education and experience

Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related field and five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
  • Design, implementation, debugging, and maintenance of graphics technology sub-systems;
  • Programming in C or C++;
  • Utilizing 3D GPU-accelerated graphics to create applications that use interactive visual elements;
  • Working with High-Level Shading Language (HLSL) to write programs that run on a graphics processor (GPU);
  • CPU and GPU optimization to maximize hardware performance for applications;
  • Modern graphics standard experience such as DX12 and/or Vulkan;
  • Building and optimizing software for PC GPU gaming, gaming console, or handheld portable gaming devices;
  • Using DirectX and Direct3D to create high-performance multimedia applications; and
  • GPU programming to design and optimize software to leverage Graphics Processing Units for high-performance tasks like AI, scientific simulations, or gaming.
