Job summary

Meta is seeking a Software Engineer to join the MTIA Software Tooling team. You will design and build developer tools across the MTIA tooling ecosystem, focusing on debugging, sanitizer tech, and fault isolation for AI workloads on MTIA hardware.

You will own end-to-end components, collaborate with compiler, runtime, kernel, and hardware teams, and drive AI-native tooling approaches to accelerate root-cause analysis at scale.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years in systems software engineering or developer tooling.
• Experience building debugging, profiling, or diagnostic tools for complex systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python, with low-level systems programming experience.
• Experience across compiler, runtime, OS/driver, and hardware layers.
• Track record delivering tooling projects to production.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of MTIA tooling for profiling and debugging.
• Build capabilities across profiling, kernel diagnostics, and multi-rank fault isolation.
• Contribute to the MTIA SW tooling infrastructure including memory analysis and monitoring.
• Own components end-to-end from design to rollout and maintenance.
• Collaborate with compiler, runtime, kernel, and hardware teams to instrument tooling.
• Drive AI-native tooling approaches to reduce time-to-root-cause.
• Partner with internal product teams to prioritize tooling investments.
• Communicate architectural decisions and share debugging best practices.
