Wayne Memorial Hospital seeks a Medical Technologist to collect specimens, run tests, and document results in a timely, accurate manner. The role requires maintaining QC, calibration, and maintenance logs while upholding patient confidentiality and infection control standards.
Experience with proficiency testing and providing training to MT/MLT new hires is valued. CPR is required every two years, and general lab safety policies must be followed.
It is the responsibility of the Medical Technologist to collect laboratory specimen as requested. The specimens are analyzed according to laboratory standards, recorded accurately so that the best service possible is available to the Physicians for use and diagnosis and treatment of the patient.
Other Responsibilities:
Employee will be required to be readily available to work during any weather related incidents or other natural disasters and/or any emergency situations that may rise.
B.S. Degree, MT (ASCP) certification or MT classification as recognized by GDCH with certification.
Certification: MT classification as recognized by ASCP, AAB, AMT, or HEW
Licensure: None
Education and/ or In-services to verify ability to obtain specimens appropriately for the age of the patient i.e. Geriatrics, Pediatrics.
CPR is required every two (2) years.
With credentials and hospital orientation, entry level into position. Experience preferred.
