Job summary

The Laboratory Technologist at Medical Center Health System analyzes blood and body fluids to provide accurate diagnostic results. You will ensure precise testing, maintain quality control, and collaborate with physicians throughout the hospital.

You will also train students and new employees, and enter results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) while communicating effectively with laboratory and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or MT (HEW) certification.
• Preferred MT/AMT/MLT certification (ASCP/AMT) or equivalent.
• Must meet CLIA education requirements for high complexity testing.
• Thorough understanding of clinical laboratory procedures.

Position Summary

The Laboratory Technologist analyzes blood and body fluids as a diagnostic aid.

The Laboratory Technologist analyzes blood and body fluids as a diagnostic aid to the physicians by producing accurate and precise test results. This position also has the responsibility of training students, and new employees. The technologist must be able to accurately enter test results into the LIS and communicate effectively throughout the hospital.

Qualifications

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or MT (HEW) certification.Preferred Certification: MT (ASCP), MT (AMT), MLT (ASCP), MLT (AMT) or equivalent. Must


• meet CLIA education requirements for testing personnel performing high complexity testing.


• Job Knowledge:Must have a thorough understanding of Clinical Laboratory Procedures.

Unusual Physical Demands And Working Conditions

• Requires ability to lift and move boxes of supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
