Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital is hiring a Social Worker (MSW) to perform biopsychosocial assessments and interventions on inpatient floors and the outpatient ED. You will support discharge planning, crisis intervention, and referrals while collaborating with the care team to address financial, emotional, and psychosocial needs.

The role requires an MSW with LMSW/RCSW-I eligibility and a Master’s degree. No travel is required; 1 year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MSW degree required; LMSW/RCSW-I license or intern status preferred.
• Licensing in good standing or eligibility for licensure is required.
• Non-clinical, biopsychosocial assessment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with care team to identify patient needs and discharge barriers.
• Coordinate psychosocial assessments and discharge planning for high-risk patients.
• Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and family support.
• Assist with financial resources referrals and post-acute placement.
• Engage patients and families in decisions while respecting preferences.
• Offer emotional support during end-of-life or high-stress moments.
