Job summary

CompassionCare Hospice in Reno, NV is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our compassionate team. You will assess psychosocial needs, provide counseling, coordinate resources, and educate families about advance directives to support holistic hospice care.

Qualified candidates hold an MSW (or CSWE-accredited BS in Social Work) with strong communication and organizational abilities, and experience in hospice care is preferred. This role is based on-site in Reno.

Qualifications

• MSW (or CSWE-accredited BS) required or equivalent.
• Experience in healthcare/hospice setting preferred.
• Strong counseling, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess psychosocial needs of patients and families.
• Provide counseling, crisis intervention and emotional support.

COMPASSION CARE HOSPICE is seeking a passionate, dedicated Social Worker to join our team inReno, NV. Our Social Workers provide emotional support, counseling, and resource coordination to patients facing terminal illness. This role plays a key part in the delivery of holistic care and ensures that patients' psychosocial needs are met with dignity and respect.

• Assess psychosocial needs of patients and families

• Provide referrals and practical support for patients and families

• Serve as liaison with community resources and agencies

• Collaborate with team members to support holistic patient care

• Support funeral, financial, and legal planning with families

Qualifications

• A graduate of a master’s program in social work (MSW) accredited by the Council on Social Work Education OR A graduate of a bachelor’s program in social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Meets personnel qualifications stated in §418.114(b)(3).

• Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in health care, hospice experience preferred. Understands hospice philosophy, and issues of death/dying.

• Experience in a hospice care preferred.

• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.

• Current licensure according to Medicare guidelines to practice in state of operation.

• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.
