Job description

Description
What You'll Do

As an MSR I, you will provide excellent member experience in every interaction by delivering a wide range of banking services with accuracy, professionalism, and care. You will help members and prospective members feel promptly and professionally served by answering questions, understanding concerns, deescalating issues, resolving requests, and offering needs-based Credit Union products and services that support their financial goals.

You will open and maintain consumer auxiliary accounts, assist with online and mobile banking needs, support members with emerging branch technology, and process a variety of account services, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, wire transfers, cashier’s checks, Visa gift cards, Visa cash advances, night drop deposits, mail deposits, check processing, card maintenance, certificate renewals, file maintenance, account changes, and fraud or debit and credit card disputes. You will also maintain a balanced cash drawer, demonstrate transaction accuracy, complete audits and supporting documentation, and assist with loan-servicing needs such as payoffs, address changes, collateral releases, and payment due date changes.

In this role, you will build and strengthen long-term relationships with both new and existing members by communicating promptly and courteously through in-person interactions, phone calls, voicemail, text, and email. You will provide general Credit Union information, council members on money management and financial matters within your role and represent UCCU’s quality and professional reputation in every member interaction.

You will work closely with branch employees, area personnel, and management to ensure branch operations run smoothly. This includes completing reports and records accurately, attending meetings as required, keeping management informed of significant activities or concerns, maintaining a clean and secure work area, and safely and precisely following all branch opening and closing procedures.

You will also continue building your knowledge and performance through assigned training, certification programs, and ongoing education, while staying informed about relevant economic conditions and legal or regulatory changes that may impact the Credit Union and the members we serve.

Who You Are

You are a high school graduate or equivalent with one to three years of similar or related experience and a working knowledge of Credit Union account and loan services, policies, procedures, consumer banking practices, and related legal, regulatory, and documentation requirements. You bring excellent member service, communication, and public relations skills, along with a professional appearance and attitude. You are analytical, financially minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable using computer applications and standard business equipment, including a computer, printer, telephone, calculator, and notary stamp when applicable. You also have strong typing skills and the ability to support members and branch operations with accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means member service transactions are completed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with established policies and procedures. You consistently follow security procedures, balance monies accurately, promptly resolve discrepancies, and ensure required reports, audits, and documentation are completed in a timely and accurate manner. You build positive business relationships with members by thoroughly explaining programs and services, accurately assessing needs, offering appropriate products, and resolving concerns courteously and promptly.

You also demonstrate success by maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers across departments and with management, continuing to grow job knowledge and performance through education, training, and certification programs, and working a regular and predictable schedule that supports reliable branch operations and consistent member experience.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and market alignment. The total package includes a competitive base salary, annual incentive opportunity tied to personal and organizational performance, and comprehensive benefits consistent with UCCU's commitment to its employees.

Why UCCU

Founded in 1955 by a BYU faculty member and six colleagues with just $5 each, UCCU began on a campus stair landing with its assets kept in a cast-iron tub. Seventy years later, Utah Community Credit Union has grown into one of the nation’s fastest-growing credit unions, serving more than 185,000 members with over $3 billion in assets and a clear vision to reach $10 billion by 2033.

What has remained constant is UCCU’s founding philosophy: people helping people. As a not-for-profit, member-owned institution, UCCU is committed to helping members improve their financial strength, achieve their goals, and love where they bank. Today, that mission is matched by a deliberate growth strategy, strong leadership, and a culture built on honesty, service, respect, fiscal responsibility, and investment in people.

For the right person, UCCU offers more than a place to work—it offers a chance to be part of something growing, purposeful, and deeply rooted in helping people thrive. Here, every role matters. Every contribution helps strengthen members, support communities, and shape the future of a trusted, member-owned institution. UCCU looks for people who want to grow as leaders in every part of life—from the boardroom to the family room, and from the bank to the backyard—while building something meaningful together.
