Summary:
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Musculoskeletal Health & Wellness provides comprehensive, non-operative care focused on musculoskeletal health, injury prevention, concussion management, bone health, and overall patient wellness.
This position will work collaboratively with NOC physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other members of the NOC team to provide an integrated approach to helping patients maintain mobility, improve function, prevent injury, and optimize long-term health.
The APP will have the opportunity to help develop and grow NOC's non-operative musculoskeletal and wellness services, including concussion care, bone density and osteoporosis management, nutrition, and other wellness-focused programs.
This is a non-operative position with an emphasis on prevention, early intervention, education, and long-term musculoskeletal health.
Essential Duties:

- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions appropriate for non-operative treatment.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment and wellness plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, and other studies within scope of practice.
- Provide conservative treatment recommendations, including rehabilitation, activity modification, injury prevention, exercise, and lifestyle interventions.
- Evaluate and manage concussions, including development of appropriate return-to-activity, return-to-work, and return-to-play plans.
- Assess patients at risk for osteoporosis, osteopenia, and other bone-health concerns; order and review bone density testing and appropriate laboratory studies.
- Provide education and recommendations related to bone health, strength, mobility, balance, fall prevention, nutrition, and healthy aging.
- Evaluate factors that may impact musculoskeletal health, including nutrition, body composition, metabolic health, and hormonal changes.
- Provide or coordinate evidence-based hormone-related evaluation and treatment when clinically appropriate, within scope of practice and established NOC protocols.
- Identify patients requiring physician, surgical, or other specialty evaluation and coordinate appropriate referrals.
- Collaborate with NOC physicians, Physical Therapy, Sports Performance, athletic trainers, and other members of the care team to provide an integrated approach to patient care.
- Support patients transitioning from injury or treatment into long-term wellness, strength, conditioning, and injury-prevention programs.
- Educate patients and families regarding musculoskeletal health, recovery, prevention, and healthy lifestyle behaviors.
- Assist in developing clinical protocols and new programs related to non-operative musculoskeletal care, concussion management, bone health, healthy aging, and patient wellness.
- Participate in community education, provider outreach, employer wellness initiatives, and other activities that increase awareness of NOC's musculoskeletal and wellness services.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and comply with all applicable clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the continued development of NOC's non-operative and wellness services.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program.
- Current Nebraska licensure or eligibility for Nebraska licensure.
- Experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, primary care, physical medicine, or a related specialty preferred.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in musculoskeletal medicine, concussion management, bone health, nutrition, preventive health, and wellness preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Interest in developing new programs and expanding non-operative musculoskeletal services.

- Ability to learn and effectively utilize NOC systems and healthcare-related technology.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and consistently follow established policies and procedures.
Environmental/Physical/Working Conditions:
Requires bending, standing, sitting, and walking for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to operate a computer, telephone, office equipment, and tools. For this position, corrected vision, digital dexterity, and hearing to normal range are required.
