Job summary

SFE in Davenport, IA is seeking an MSBI Data Architect to design and maintain data architectures, ETL pipelines, and BI solutions.

You will develop complex SQL queries, SSIS ETL, Power BI reports, and data models, while optimizing performance and enabling self-service analytics for stakeholders.

Candidates should have strong communication skills and experience coordinating with offshore/onsite teams in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in MS SQL Server.
• Ability to create complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures in SQL Server.
• Design and implement robust ETL using SSIS.
• Develop scalable and reusable Power BI solutions following best practices.
• Integrate data from on-prem and cloud sources into Power BI.
• Optimize data models for performance and fast data retrieval.
• Develop advanced DAX formulas and Power Query transformations.
• Understand and support existing SSRS reports and develop new ones.
• Industry experience in metal/manufacturing is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with external technical and functional teams to capture requirements and translate into technical specs.
• Understand current source SQL data architecture and rearchitect downstream SQL Datawarehouse per new sources.
• Modify existing standards and customize programs as needed.
• Analyze issues and provide resolutions.
• Collaborate with offshore team to define requirements and supervise work.
• Test the application.
• Estimate effort and timelines for enhancements.
• Create/update technical specifications.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Strong foundation in MS SQL server
• Create complex SQL queries, view, Stored procedure etc. in SQL server.
• Design and implement robust ETL using SSIS.
• Develop scalable and reusable Power BI solutions that adhere to best practices and industry standards.
• Integrate data from various sources, including on-premises databases, cloud services, and external APIs, into Power BI.
• Optimize data models for performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing.
• Develop advanced DAX formulas and Power Query transformations to create complex calculations and data transformations.
• Understanding and support existing reports in SSRS and developing new reports.
• Domain knowledge of metal and manufacturing industry is a big plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
