Job summary

Liberty Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide day-to-day patient care in Medical Surgical Services. The role leverages the nursing process to assess and respond to a wide age range of patients, from neonate to geriatric, in dynamic clinical situations.

The RN will supervise staff on the shift and refer unusual clinical or administrative problems to the unit leadership. The position requires active Georgia licensure and BLS, with ACLS/PALS to be completed within 90 days

Qualifications

• RN must hold Georgia license and BLS certification.
• ACLS and PALS must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Clinical preceptorship completed during nursing education or work experience.

JOB SUMMARYThis position is for a Registered Nurse whose responsibility is to provide day-to-day patient care activities to patients receiving therapeutic and diagnostic services in Medical Surgical Services, in accordance with accreditation standards, federal, state, and local regulations, organizational and departmental policies and procedures and professional standards. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, prioritize, plan, deliver, and evaluate neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient responses to potential life threatening situations or illnesses. Refers unusual clinical and administrative problems to the Director of Medical Surgical Services Unit Coordinator, or Resource Charge Nurse. Responsible for the supervision of professional and skilled personnel during an assigned shift. The position reports to the Director of Medical Surgical Services.JOB QUALIFICATIONSMinimum level of Education: Education level equivalent to an associate degree in nursing required.Formal Training: Clinical competence in nursing required.Licensure, Certifications & Registration: Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Georgia; BLS Provider certification required; ACLS Provider certification and PALS provider certification required within 90 days of employment. Instructor certifications do not replace provider certification requirements.Work Experience: Advanced technical nursing skills. Basic cardiac arrhythmia identification skills. Basic computer skills. Completion of an acute care clinical preceptorship while a student nurse if no work experienced yet attained.
