Job summary

Sika, based in Gastonia, North Carolina, is seeking an MRO Buyer to ensure the plant has the maintenance parts, supplies, and services needed for safe, reliable operations. You will work closely with Maintenance, Production, Warehouse, Finance, Procurement, and suppliers, leveraging SAP S/4HANA and CMMS tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial purchasing, MRO procurement, maintenance storeroom operations, inventory control, or a related manufacturing function.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA purchasing and inventory transactions.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and business systems, with the ability to use ERP, CMMS, inventory, and purchasing software.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records for maintenance spare parts, consumables, and MRO supplies.
• Monitor usage, inventory levels, lead times, and part criticality; recommend reorder points, minimum and maximum quantities, and stocking strategies.
• Coordinate cycle counts and physical inventories, investigate discrepancies, and help maintain inventory accuracy.
• Convert approved requisitions into purchase orders, confirming specifications, quantities, pricing, delivery requirements, and account coding.
