Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5 years of procurement experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience with MS Office, SAP, Ariba and procurement transactions.
  • Experience purchasing tools, commodities and materials.
  • Knowledge of procurement, cost analysis, supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency with Ariba B&I Module for procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase Order Management & Processing across designated ERP.
  • Place and manage POs including blanket orders for indirect non-stock materials.
  • Execute end-to-end purchasing: requisition to PO, goods receipt, vendor payment.
  • Negotiate terms under supervision to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Maintain procurement records and archives with required documents.
  • Ensure compliance with PUR-related policies and procedures.
  • Manage goods receipt schedules and close POs after completion.
  • Resolve discrepancies with suppliers and expedite priority orders.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams on policy and requirements.
  • Generate procurement analytics and management reports.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives with Strategic Sourcing.

Position Overview

TheIndirectBuyer is responsible for leading and managing Indirect Purchasing activities by researching, evaluating, negotiating, and analyzing as it related to the procurement of goods and services for the various group companies with FUJIFILM across North America. Processes requisitions and purchase orders with attention to policy compliance, detail and time management. Manages expenditure and capital purchase orders for MRO goods and services. Communicates with vendors and facilities leadership and provides documentation as needed.

This position must work East Coast hours Monday – Friday 8:00 AM — 5:00 PM ET.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
  1. Purchase Order Management & Processing

a. Place and manage purchase orders for one FUJIFILM Group Company within their designated ERP, including blanket purchase orders for indirect non-stock materials.

b. Process purchase orders for assigned Group Companies, with a basic understanding of processes, end users, approvers, and business requirements. Execute end-to-end purchasing processes from requisition through purchase order issuance, goods receipt, and vendor payment with regular support from leadership. Proven ability to negotiate purchase terms and conditions with supervision to achieve favorable outcomes.

  1. Documentation & Compliance

a. Maintain timely, accurate record keeping, data entry, and archives of procurement documentation and company-specific purchasing records. Review and ensure all required documentation is included for purchase orders, such as SS Forms, legal contract approvals, and contractor status verification via ISN for onsite vendors.

b. Demonstrate basic understanding of PUR-related policies and procedures to assist end users effectively.

c. Manage goods receipt schedules via order confirmation sheets; supervise goods receipt entries by end-users, close out purchase orders upon completion, and resolve discrepancies (price, quantities, wrong items, etc.) through supplier coordination. Expedite priority order requests and maintain established service level targets, including upkeep of expedite reports with no items pending beyond two weeks.

  1. Supplier & Vendor Support

a. Facilitate vendor additions and FUJIFILM account setups with limited supervision, maintaining knowledge of vendor base and sourcing for regularly purchased items.

b. Act as primary contact for routine supplier inquiries and communications, supporting basic supplier relationship management and sourcing.

  1. Audit & Safety Compliance

a. Provide support for audit-related tasks ensuring procurement compliance.

b. Participate actively in company and customer safety, health, and training programs; ensure full compliance with safety procedures before, during, and after purchasing activities to promote a safety-first culture.

  1. Communication & Collaboration

a. Interface with cross-functional teams and personnel at all organizational levels, communicating policies, business needs, and procurement guidance to requisitioners and end users. Identify inefficiencies in processes and add value.

b. Initiate reports, charts, and memorandums as required, including procurement analytics and company-specific reports for management review.

c. Interface with Strategic Sourcing Buyers to support cost-saving and value-add initiatives for supported business units.

d. Provide guidance to requisitioners on procurement best practices and policy adherence (introducing a team development responsibility).

  1. Ethics & Sustainability

a. Adhere to company ethics and regulatory standards in all procurement activities.

b. Follow and support corporate sustainability/green procurement initiatives where applicable.

Required Skills/Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 5 years of experience in procurement within the manufacturing industry

  • Experience with MS Office Suite, SAP, Ariba and procurement transactions

  • Experience in purchasing tools, commodities, and materials

  • Sound knowledge of procurement, value, and cost analysis, with the ability to manage supplier relationships.

  • Proven ability to navigate and utilize the Ariba B&I Module to support procurement processes.

  • Demonstrate strong multitasking skills and prioritize objectives outside of regular buying duties to meet department goals.

  • Identify and drive resolution of process inefficiencies to improve procurement workflows and effectiveness.

  • General understanding of commercial processes, cost structure, and financial controlling methods

  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of business via phone, written communication and in person by using strong communications and interpersonal skills (both listening and verbal)

  • Strong analytical abilities with impeccable attention to detail; Experience with cost improvement projects and industry best practices

  • Knowledge of 5S and Six Sigma problem-solving methodology; Understanding of lean manufacturing environment or exposure to continuous improvement

  • Ability to willingly make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgement and make timely decisions

  • Capability to work without direct supervision in a safe and effective manner

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
